Diver Specialty

  • Mention a "deep dive" and watch the reactions. Novice divers want to know what its like. More experienced divers who have been a bit deeper chat with excitement.

  • This qualification allows you to go to a depth of 40 metres, teaches you how to plan deep dives and about the extra equipment you'll need.

  • What's involved:

  • Knowledge assessment/Knowledge review
  • 4 Open water dives spread over 2 days.
  • Timed tasks to show the effects of Nitrogen Narcosis
  • Navigation at depth
  • Understanding the effect on colour at depth
  • Tour dive at depth

  • How long will it take?

  • Approximately 24 hours split between home study/classroom work and open water dives.
  • 4 deep water dives over the course of 2 days.

  • Who can take the Deep Diver Specialty course?

  • Minimum age 15 years
  • PADI Adventure Diver certification or equivalent

  • PADI Deep Diver Specialty manual
  • PADI Deep Diver DVD
